"The thinker" - 2019
Oak wood & Acrylic glass, 200 cm. For this sculpture, I created a more powerful composition by replacing the hair of the thinker with small characters. Each character represents his thoughts, mental torments and anxieties. Some are opaque, some red, some transparent, some heavy, some light. The more I say, the less it is for you to discover.

Constantin Brancusi was born in Romania, at the heart of the the Carpathian Mountains. These lands are a repository of ancient European civilizations, their people seemingly predisposed to a spontaneous, vibrant awareness of an archaic sensibility. Transmitted through primary, primeval forms, unmodified by time, this consciousness is contemporaneous with its own eternity, perpetually ready for new beginnings. Through the emergence of what was to be his quintessential oeuvre, Brancusi reasserted the presence of this monumental, solar, cosmological dream mythology. Transfixed between the need for a personal form of expression and the impersonal statement of truth, he found the way to obliterate in himself any manifestation of the self. His work transformed the material substance of his sculptures into light and the profane space into something sacred. His was an art of transformation. Garden of Eden - 2019 L 105 cm / W 30 cm / H 63 cm (without base) The biblical Tree of knowledge of good and evil, with a succulent apple. The golden cubic base (similar to citrine crystal), represent the precious and unspoiled lands of the Eden. The Tree is elongated into a horizontal vector, in a snake like shape, cunning and deceiving, facilitating the temptation and providing an easily obtained sinful golden apple. Two sizes: 30 cm & 90cm "cube" I am really curious what this artwork represent for you. Does it tell you a story, something that I am missing? "How to sculpt oxygen and how to sculpt a reflection?" These were just some of the questions that I have been asking myself before creating this artwork. The parallel image of a mountain range, the doppelganger, the substrate of the mountain – only the idea to sculpt it was challenging.

Ode to the sea - 2019 30 cm / 30 cm / H 43 cm, marble + acrylic A breathtaking rendition between movement and balance, a dance between the sea and an eroded rock. The cliff sits in a fragile balance above the water, with the aid of the three foot base, that is slowly eroded by the water. Though it seems an eternal scene, the cliff is actually in a fragile state of balance, sustained in a temporary tree looking cliff support. Dunes: Piece of Desert - 2019 The remarkable story of the Earth, that starts today, and finish somewhere in the future. A virtual section of the desert, a sinking piece of land, in a strong oblique position that emphasis dissolution, loss. The bedrock of water, holding like an Atlas on its shoulder – dry sand. I have augmented this complex picture with the figurative silhouette located at the top of the dunes; surreal figure leaving a ghostly trails of footsteps behind. The layers of materials, some of them with a story. The black coal, taken just before the closing of one of the last functional coal mine in Romania.
